Financial Institutions and Designation Non-Financial Businesses and Professions are issued the following guidance for implementing AML/CFT measures:


Note: General Guidance Paper to Financial Institutions and Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions on Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting the Financing of Terrorism issued on 11 July 2019 has been repealed, effective 30 January 2023.

Integrated Financial Intelligence System (IFIS)

Integrated Financial Intelligence System (IFIS) is a secure online reporting facility for the submission of reports to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB).

This facility is available for financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses and professions defined under the Criminal Asset Recovery Order, 2012 (CARO) and the Anti-Terrorism Order, 2011 (ATO).

Reports and information collected will be better managed and analysed for quality financial intelligence which may be disseminated to law enforcement agencies to assist in their investigations.

IFIS facilitates the secure submission of the following reports:

Icon 1

Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs);

Icon 2

Cash Transaction Reports (CTRs);

Reports can be submitted using one of the following methods:

Web-based reporting: by filling in the form manually on the IFIS website;

Icon 2

Uploading XML files; by uploading information in bulk/batch by extracting information from XML files generated by the reporting entity’s system.
